Employee Benefits

SDSA manages its budget, and human resources functions independently of our authorizing school district. This structure provides us the opportunity to refine our compensation model over time. New employees enter the matrix at a level equal to their education, credit hours, and years of experience (up to eight years). Included as part of compensation, teachers receive ten paid (PTO) days per school year, priority enrollment for their children, and a benefits package including:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Life insurance options
  • PERA retirement fund

If you have questions regarding your benefits, please contact our business manager, Vince Jackson

Si tiene preguntas sobre sus beneficios, por favor póngase en contacto con nuestro gerente de negocios, Vince Jackson.

Why Work for SDSA?

Salida del Sol Academy provides a rigorous education that supports student academic goals through dual-language immersion. We value our teachers and support them both in and out of the classroom.

Weekly Coaching
Teachers at SDSA build their instructional skills through weekly observation and feedback cycles. Our administrative team supports teachers through lesson planning, classroom and time management, analyzing assessments, and interpreting data according to research-based best practices.

PBIS System
We want to be proactive in our behavior management program and establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm. Through specific expectations and rewards, teachers and students work together to foster an environment that promotes Safety, Ownership, Leadership, Attitude, and Respect (our behavioral model).

Professional Development
One Monday a month, teachers and staff participate in collaborative planning and professional development opportunities provided by Centennial BOCES, the Colorado League of Charter Schools, and the Gómez & Gómez Dual Language Institute. These opportunities helps teachers stay up to date with teaching pedagogy and credits for license renewal.

Common Plan Time
Students participate in special activities outside the classroom every school day. This allows teachers one hour of common plan time, within their grade level, to create assessments, interpret data, and encourage one another.
